Description

From Communion by Whitley Strieber:

"He was followed by a large group of short, stocky ones in the dark-blue coveralls. These had wide faces, appearing either dark gray or dark blue in that light, with glittering deep-set eyes, pug noses, and broad, somewhat human mouths…

Throughout the whole experience, the stocky ones were always present. They were apparently responsible for moving and controlling me, and I had the distinct impression that they were a sort of ‘good army.’ Why good I do not know. “

The design of the creature for this drawing was closely based on the work of  artist David W. Chace, AKA “Dahami”

"Page 16 of A Visual Guide to Alien Beings chronicles my attempts to figure out what stocky blue aliens look like, based on reading Whitley Strieber’s description, watching the movie Communion, and consulting with four women who had reported seeing this type.

Also, there is another type of blue alien that has some features of the Pillsbury Doughboy and the Michelin Man. It was much smoother featured than the Strieber type stocky blues, which are said to have numerous furrows of skin, as if the skin is “doubled up”. It was based on a single report though, and I haven’t come across another one since that is exactly like it. It was seen dancing in a dream. To this day I’m unclear if the encounters with this being were dreams or memories of physical events. They could have been astral events for all I know.

I’ve also speculated on the appearance of the blue-gray “sphincter mouth” type entity that a friend of mine saw looking over him in the middle of the night (see my post #221 of October 5, 2011 on page 8 of this sketchbook, page 13 of A Visual Guide to Alien Beings). This being had dwarf-like five-fingered hands.”

There is another type of blue-skinned alien also referred to as “Blues”. I’ll be doing a separate drawing of them eventually under their other name, “Moon-Eyes”.
